In the run-up to the 2017 Women’s March, author and activist Jennifer Boylan challenged her audience with the words; “If we are not here to look out for one another, what are we here for exactly?” On the day that speech was delivered, the “we” was the LGBTQ community. But the same reasoning applies to any encounter between those that need some help and those who have an abundance of a needed resource. I believe that these encounters are expressions of the Grand Plan that keeps humanity chugging along and the generous sharing of emotional, material and knowledge resources is the fuel that the Grand Plan runs on. I’ve homed in on two groups that I feel especially strongly about and I use this “professional/personal” website to channel assistance to those who I think can use it. —– Mike Stiefvater
